A kitchen paper sourcing checklist starts with the task: wiping a worktop, handling spills, drying hands or another defined use. Then describe how users will store and dispense the paper. A product name alone does not explain either requirement.
A reference pack or dispenser photograph is useful when the new product must fit existing equipment. Include dimensions and identify the features that must stay the same.
Kitchen paper sourcing: format first
For rolls, discuss sheet dimensions, roll dimensions, count or length, perforation, winding and pack configuration. For folded or hanging packs, discuss the fold, stack, opening, pull direction and where the user will hang or place the pack.
Keep the product description specific. Kitchen paper, hand towels, cotton soft towels and wipes serve different purposes, even when they share a cleaning task.
Give the sample review a clear purpose
Identify the performance you want to compare, such as absorbency, strength during use or dispensing. Use the same agreed conditions for the samples and record what you checked. Where a claim requires testing, agree the method and relevant evidence rather than treating an informal trial as a laboratory result.
Kitchen paper sourcing checklist
- Use: the task, use location and intended sales channel.
- Format: roll, folded or hanging pack; dimensions; ply; count or length; and any dispenser reference.
- Material and performance: material preference, comparison priorities and required product evidence.
- Packaging: unit pack, opening, bundle or carton quantity, artwork status and barcode data.
- Order context: estimated quantity, destination, sample needs and delivery planning.
Keep product and packaging approvals connected
Changing the count, fold or roll dimensions can change the pack. Compare the physical sample with the artwork and carton details before approval. Retain one identified specification and artwork revision for repeat orders.
Undecided details can remain open in the first enquiry. Ask the team to confirm the selected configuration, MOQ and production timing for your project. This guide does not set standard figures for these items.
